11 - Come bother me
I really liked this pick melody when I first wrote it & wanted to keep this song relatively exposed. So when it came to recording
I laid down the acoustic pick & vocal with the intention of leaving it bare. But then I found that numerous melody overlays were popping into my head whenever I heard the song & a small part of me felt that the guitar sound – being so crisp & bright – sometimes inclined to being a little cold, so a Cello was added to warm the song & concentrated on some of the melodies I was hearing in my head.Lyrically this entangles all the nuances & quirks that your partner has. In times of stress they are the factors that can slightly irritate or annoy, but 95% of the time they are the endearments, the comical little habits that bring a smile to the face.
Come bother me by John Fisher - lyrics
Come bother me
Come get on my nerves anytime you are free
And do not fain any conversations that our relationship does not need
And feel at ease won’t you please
To come bother me
So roll out all your worries on me
And don’t dot the I’s and don’t you dare cross those T’s
Give me all your complications that make me crumble ‘til I fall to my knees
Yes please
Please
Never come stare so blatantly bare with politeness
Like a strange absentee
Oh please
Please
Come bother me
