'Organic' The albumReleased in CD format Feb 2011. Available direct from Earth Studios Norwich or contact me via this website, price £5 +p&pThis collective is called ‘Organic’, this title arose after having played some early mixes to a handful of friends for some criticism & directional advice, and a common thread amongst many of the comments was of the music being very ‘earthy’ & touchable & having an organic quality. |

05 - Resist your smile
Resist your smile is about fate. The question of whether or not we really do have soul mates, and if this was another time & place, or another life & our faces, persona’s & self’s were totally different would our eyes still meet across a crowded room, would we still find each other & would we connect as we do in this life. Musically – when I first wrote the guitar riff, to me it was just the blues through & through. Immediately I wanted a simple but pumping bass underpinning the whole thing & could envision either an extremely blues fuelled lead guitar or mouth harp driving the song (guitar making the final edit).
Once recorded I decided on adding some bluesy gospel female vocals to duel against my own & feel this was the right way to go having now fully absorbed the completed track and finding that there’s nothing I would want to add, re-do, or change.
Resist your smile by John Fisher - lyrics
On another world
In some other place
At another time
Did I resist your smile
Could I resist your smile
Or are we dealing out the hand of fate
Just a dirty little game
Called chance
In another life
With another face
Would you recognise
And would I resist your smile
Could I resist your smile
Or are we dealing out the hand of fate
Just a dirty little game
Called chance
Could I resist your smile
Give me the say so
How can I resist your smile
